L’obiettivo principale è raccogliere e sistematizzare buone pratiche per tradurle in linee guida operative rivolte a educatori, allenatori e operatori sociali.

SEMY

European project for the inclusion of young people through sport gets underway

First face-to-face meeting of the SEMY project in Budapest

On January 22 and 23, 2026, the first face-to-face meeting between the partners of the SEMY – Sport to Engage Marginalized Youth project will be held in Budapest, a key moment for consolidating international collaboration and planning future activities.

During the two days, the partners will define the governance and roles within the project, confirm the planning of the main deliverables, and establish guidelines for the inclusive sports handbook.

They will also agree on the operating procedures for inclusive sports activities, the objectives and structure of training for instructors and operators, the use of the online platform, and the dissemination and visibility strategies for the project. At the end of the meeting, each action will have specific responsibilities and deadlines, ensuring an effective and shared start to the project.

This first meeting is a fundamental step in ensuring that SEMY achieves its goal: to make sport a concrete tool for social inclusion for young people in marginalized contexts.

The focus of the SEMY project

SEMY is carried out by an international partnership composed of organizations from Italy, Portugal, and Hungary. The project is coordinated by APS La Comune, together with Sport Evolution Alliance (Portugal) and Budapest Association for International Sports (Hungary), and is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ Sport program*.

SEMY aims to promote the social inclusion of young people from marginalized backgrounds through sport, making it more accessible and giving it a strong educational value. The main objective is to collect and systematize good practices in order to translate them into operational guidelines for educators, coaches, and social workers.

To achieve this, the project involves several integrated actions: analysis of existing practices, production of an inclusive sports handbook, training activities for operators and instructors, organization of free sports activities for young people at risk of exclusion, and opportunities for discussion and dissemination at local and European level.

Through these actions, SEMY aims to strengthen the educational role of sport and provide concrete tools to promote participation, socialization, and well-being among the young people involved.
